Luis Millingalli- Ecuador

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Pujilí, Cotopaxi Province - Millingalli began painting at the age of 12. Since he was 20 years old, he has lived in the city of Quito where he frequented the workshop of the famous Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamín with whom he learned to refine his technique.

Millingalli describes his work as ecological and customary; Specialized critics have included it within the Naif current due to its simplicity and the artist's self-taught training. In fact, one of his paintings is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Naive Art in Paris.

The sample is composed of oils and acrylics in different formats, which express the sentiment of the Andean peoples. Warmth, transparency, simplicity, authenticity and color are the characteristics of his work. Joy is the main emotion that his work transmits and that is expressed not only in the intensity of the colors he uses, but also through the themes referring to the customs and popular traditions of Ecuador and its nature, especially the flowers of the Andean valleys and those of the tropics.

In addition to multiple exhibitions in Ecuador, internationally he has exhibited his works in Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, England, Japan, and Panama.
